St. D'Vence Moroccan Argan and Raw Honey Face Wash Review

Hi there. How are you doing? Today I’m back with a new review. This is a face wash from St. D’Vence. I came across this brand while searching for a good sulfate-free face wash on Smytten. I decided to try a small sample to check whether it suits my skin. Surprisingly, the small bottle of 50 ml has lasted me for more than 2 weeks now. So without further ado, here is the St. D’Vence Moroccan Argan and Raw Honey Face Wash Review.

My skin is oscillating between dry and oily these days. It gets dried by water and breaks out with my usual face cream. At times, I feel like telling it, “Come on skin, make up your mind!” With this erratic skin, I wanted to use a face wash that would be gentle but deeply cleanse my skin.

About the product

Made up of argan oil, raw honey, aloe vera, and vitamin E, this face wash contains some really awesome ingredients for face. This face wash is free of paraben, SLS/SLES, hypoallergenic, added fragrance, and mineral oil.

Argan oil is known as golden liquid as it is great for dry as well as acne-prone skin. Raw honey is an excellent humectant that helps in clearing away any skin infections. Aloe vera and vitamin E both help in moisturizing and hydrating the skin.

So did this face wash work for my skin? Read on below.

Packaging

St. D'Vence Moroccan Argan and Raw Honey Face Wash packaging

I bought the 50ml package and that came in a tube with a screw top. Bigger sizes generally come in a bottle with a pump nozzle to dispense the amount.

The face wash tube that I received, the opening was sealed. I did not observe any spillage or leakage after removing the seal. The screw-top provides proper protection and prevents leakage. It can be easily carried in the bag as well.

The pump bottle is easier to use but difficult to carry in a bag.

Claims

St. D’Vence Moroccan Argan face wash is a balanced blend of 100% pure and organic Argan oil, sourced directly from women-run Argan Co-operatives in Morocco and Raw % Wild Honey. It deeply penetrates into your skin nourishing down to the deepest layers of the cells, adding a healthy glow.

Ingredients

St. D'Vence Moroccan Argan and Raw Honey Face wash ingredients

Argan Oil, Raw Honey, Aloe vera, Vitamin E, Phenoxyethanol, Glycerin, Coco amido propyl betaine, Disodium EDTA, Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Lauryl Sarcosinate, Disodium Laureth Sulfo Succinate, Triethanolamine, Glyceryl Cocoate, Honey Flavour, Purified Water

As can be seen from the above list, this face wash contains gentler cleansing alternatives. The first line of ingredients are all-natural ones which pack awesome benefit to the skin.

How to use

Surprisingly, the small tube that I received did not contain any usage instruction. I used it like any other face wash, took a small amount in palm, mixed with water to produce lather. I applied this foam on my face. This way, I got decent lather and it was easy to apply on face.

Appearance & Consistency

The face wash is dark brown in color with a runny consistency. It spreads easily and gives decent lather. It lathers less, which is expected as it does not contain sulfates. I did not have any problem with it but if you are used to using foamy face washes, it may take you some time to adjust to this. Remember, cleansing happens even with less or no foam so lather is not really an indicator of effectiveness.

Fragrance

It has a herbal smell of raw honey. I found it strong the first time as it was unexpected. The smell fades after some time. After the first use, I don’t find smell bothersome. But it may be a problem for people with sensitive noses.

Price

50 ml tube costs INR 99. 150 ml tube costs INR 299.

Availability

It is available in all the major online stores like Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa and St. D’vence site.

Who is it suitable for?

Even though this face wash claims to be suitable for dry skin, I liked it even for my acne-prone skin. It did not cause any breakouts and did not dry out my skin excessively which is a big plus. I will recommend this for dry as well as oily skinned beauties.

My review of St. D’Vence Moroccan Argan and Raw Honey Face Wash

As mentioned earlier, I had never heard of this brand before and ordered a smaller tube to check whether this facewash will suit my skin or not.

I am pleasantly surprised with this facewash. It deeply cleansed my skin without giving it a stretchy feeling. In fact, after washing face with this, I don’t feel the need to immediately apply a moisturizer.

Even though I’m staying at home these days, my normal skincare routine remains pretty much the same. I apply moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning after bath and clean it up before going to bed. This facewash cleared away everything in one wash.
In the future, I will also check how effectively this removes grime after outdoor activity (walking in sunny on dusty roads).

I have a confession to make. Since I did not step out anywhere, I skipped on the best skincare routine and did not wash my face before bed. My logic, my face wasn’t dirty as I didn’t step out of the house. result, I got one small pimple on my nose. This facewash did nothing to clear away that pimple. I had to follow my acne routine to get rid of that pimple.

Now coming to the claims, I did not see any major difference in my skin texture. This face wash claims to give a healthy glow to the skin. After washing the face, the skin does look clean and bright. The glow, however, does not last for long. But that’s expected as only a facewash cannot give permanent glow.

Pros

  1. Affordable
  2. Nice ingredient list
  3. Gentle face wash
  4. Free from SLS/SLES, mineral oil, paraben, added fragrance
  5. Does not dry out skin
  6. Gives bright skin
  7. Peta approved so not tested on animals

Cons

  1. Herbally smell may bother people with a very sensitive nose.

Recommendation

I will recommend this face wash to anyone looking for a gentle face wash with good ingredients. It will suit both dry and acne-prone skin.

Repurchase

I will repurchase a bigger bottle after finishing the current tube as this is a good paraben free facewash.

Rating

4/5 spoons of happiness.

Conclusion

St. D’Vence Moroccan Argan and Raw Honey Face Wash is a mild and gentle face wash. With the ingredients like argan oil, raw honey, and aloe vera, this face wash is great for all skin types. It effectively cleans the skin without drying it out.
