Hi beautiful! I’m a fan of using natural ingredients in my beauty routine. So, when I saw Coccoon detoxifying face wash with French red clay and witch hazel, I knew I had to try it. Here is Coccoon detoxifying face wash review after using it for some time.

About the company
I had seen the ad of this company and the company claims to make paraben-free and gentle products. From the company site:
“Coccoon embraces a personal space devoted to protection and pampering.”
The company follows the motto of Pamper, Protect, and Nourish. They offer skin, hair, and body care products.
Claims
The company claims this is suitable for all skin types. It detoxifies, brightens, cleanses, and nourishes your skin.
French red clay would wash away the impurities and detoxify your skin. Vitamin C helps to add glow and shine to the skin, while witch hazel helps to revitalize. The presence of Pro-Vitamin B5 would make your skin luxuriously soft, supple, and light.
Tall claims? Let’s see if this face wash can meet it.
But first some basic details about this face wash.
Coccoon Detoxifying Face Wash Details
Packaging

It comes in a white tube with a golden print. The tube is tight and leak-proof. The tube is also convenient to carry in a bag.
You can find all the details about the product on the back of the tube. The packaging looks chic and classy.
Ingredients

You can find the complete list of ingredients on the back of the tube.
This is a sulfate-free face wash. It contains water-soluble silicones. Just be aware, if you avoid silicones in your face wash.
How to use?
It differs from your typical face washes in the sense that it recommends applying face wash on dry skin.
Apply coin-sized amount on dry skin and massage. Once the French red clay transforms into a white cream, dampen fingertips and continue massaging. Rinse with warm water and follow up with a moisturizer.
Price & Availability
The MRP of a 100ml tube is Rs. 499, but you may find it at a discount on major sites.
You can find this face wash in most of the major online stores.
Texture & Fragrance
The face wash is pinkish red. It has a smooth texture and thick consistency.
I find the smell light and artificial. Even though the smell is light to begin with, the time to apply, massage, and rinse this face wash, it becomes quite considerable.
My review of Coccoon Detoxifying Face Wash
I have been using this face wash for more than a month now.
The first time I used it like a regular face wash, took a small quantity in the palm and mixed it with water. I spent almost 5 mins diluting it enough to apply it properly on the face.
Learned from this lesson, I read the instructions. And used it as per the recommendations.
I applied a small quantity on dry face and massaged. As I massaged, I kept adding water. It was easier to apply but still took almost 5 mins.
I like to use face wash as a quickie, take out ->apply -> wash. I like to spend 5 minutes on the skin for natural treatments.
The thick consistency feels heavy on the face and takes some time to clean up. After using it for 3-4 days, I observed little pimples budding on my face. I stopped using this face wash and resumed only after my skin calmed down.
Since then, I use this once a day in the morning. In the night, I use either a clay cleanser or another face wash.
Benefits
- Nice leak-proof, travel-friendly packaging
- Contains many ingredients good for the skin
Cons
- Expensive – for this cost, there are many other better options available
- Contains silicones – this may not suit you if you avoid silicones
- Artificial smell
- It takes a long time to apply
- Gave me pimples – deal breaker!!!
Recommendation
I would recommend this if you have dry skin or if you don’t break out easily. And if you are ready to spend some time massaging the face wash in the bathroom.
If you are anything like me and like to wash your face quickly, then this may not work for you.
Repurchase
Maybe not. I am still open to give this company a chance before ruling them out, so I will try some other variations of face wash.
Rating
2/5 spoons of happiness
Conclusion
So that was my review of Coccoon detoxifying face wash. It is an average face wash with some unconventional usage instructions. As good as the ingredients may be, they didn’t suit my acne-prone skin.
