I love trying new hair and skin products. When my usual face wash got over, I knew it was time to explore a new one. I did some research and finalized on Organic harvest oil control face wash. I have been using this for more than 2 weeks and here I am now, with Organic harvest oil control face wash review.
In today’s life, face wash is an essential and integral part of the skincare routine. Using a good face wash is necessary to remove dust, pollution, makeup and oil from the skin and make it clean which can breathe easily. I’m always on the lookout for good, organic skincare brands and products. And this search brought me to Organic Harvest.
Why Organic Harvest
As per company claims, Organic Harvest brand uses ingredients and raw materials certified from global companies like EcoCert, OneCert and Natrue.
Organic harvest Oil control face wash review
Organic harvest oil control face wash is suitable for all skin type as it consists of ingredients which deeply clean the skin and provide glow to the dull skin.
Packaging
The packaging is pretty basic, it comes in a green and yellow squeeze tube. The back contains all the details. It is also claimed to be “Sulfate Free” and “Certified Organic”.
The tube is travel-friendly and easy to carry in a bag. But being a squeeze tube, there is a risk of it leaking. I actually did carry it in my luggage, and a tiny bit had leaked after the whole day journey. Even though it was nothing major, I would recommend to carry it in a ziplock bag to be safe.
Company Claims
Who is it for
This is one area where conflicting information is given. Front of the tube claims this product is suitable for all skin types, however, in the product description it is mentioned as best suited for oily and sensitive skin.
After using this for more than 2 weeks, I would say, this is indeed best suited for oily and sensitive skin. Dry skin beauties may find this one a bit too drying.
Ingredients
Ingredients list for this face wash is really small, consisting of 4 ingredients in total.
It consists of decyl glucoside, organic lemon and orange extract, and that’s it.
Usage Instructions
The back of the tube contains usage instructions. Pretty basic stuff, nothing fancy.
“Take a small amount of the product in your palm and apply thoroughly to wet face. Work up lather. Rinse thoroughly.”
Being sulfate-free, this does not lather much. The first time, I ended up scrubbing my face too hard to get the lather(I love my lather :)). Lesson learnt! From next time I generally take small quantity and dilute it with water before applying on the face. This way, I get a little lather.
It lathers decently on second wash. So, if I have to remove makeup, I wash twice to get squeaky-clean feeling.
I also tried applying it directly on face, it was difficult, to say the least. I ended up using more than the required quantity too as there was very less lather.
Consistency
It has gel-like consistency and is light green in colour. It is easy to dilute and mix in palm, you will get little lather this way.
After my experiment the first time, I stick to diluting it before applying lather on my face.
Fragrance
This has a citrusy smell, with notes of lemon and orange(both are mentioned in the ingredients). This is very refreshing after a tiring day at work, or to kickstart a sleepy morning.
Price
Priced at INR 150 for 100 ml, this is a value for money. The price is really good compared to other organic products in the same category.
Availability
This is available on Amazon, Flipkart, Organic Harvest site, and my favourite store for organic products qtrove.
My experience with Organic harvest oil control face wash
I have used this face wash for more than 2 weeks now. I have used it to clean my face after a day of extensive walking and minimal as well as light party makeup. It managed to give me clean skin every single time. With makeup, I had to wash twice though.
It did not dry out my skin excessively. I can easily get away without using any moisturizer for 5-10 minutes after using this face wash. After 10 minutes, my skin starts feeling a little dry, that was also a little bit, nothing excessive. I get this much dryness, after washing my face with water too, so don’t think it was due to face wash.
I cannot comment about excessive oil control or making skin lighter or healthier claims. It is winters and my skin is naturally drier in this season. I will try again in summers to see how it works during sweaty weather.
For lighter and healthier skin, I believe you need to use it for a longer time than 2 weeks.
Breakouts
Using this face wash, at the beginning, I got a couple of pimples. I still continued using this face wash and I did not get any new pimples after those 2 at the beginning. I stuck to using this face wash as I wanted to really give this a shot and I was confident of controlling pimples through my super anti-acne kit.
Along with this face wash, I had also changed my sunscreen, so I’m not sure which one exactly broke me out. I would say, only change one product at a time to be sure which one is not working for you.
Recommendation
This is a decent, affordable, organic facewash available in Indian market. I would recommend this face wash for all skin types as it does not contain any harsh chemicals. Even though it has a small ingredient list, it is decent in doing its job.
Repurchase
This is a good, affordable, organic face wash and I would buy it again in future as well.
