Hi there! Today I’m going to review Body Cupid Biotin and Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo for Stronger Hair.
Winter is a super dry season for me, my already dry hair loses its remaining moisture and becomes bone dry. This results in a lot of tangling and breakage. The ad of Body Cupid Biotin and Argan Shampoo kept popping up in my Facebook feed. Since this shampoo claimed to treat dry hair, and it was in my list of SULFATE-FREE shampoo to try, so I decided to give this a shot. Let’s read how this shampoo fared for me.
Who is this suitable for?
This shampoo claims to be suitable for all hair types. Since it contains biotin, jojoba oil, argan oil, and aloe vera it has something to offer for all hair type.
Packaging
It comes in an opaque bottle with a pump nozzle. The bottle looks classy and chic with Blue and Golden combination. All the details like ingredients, usage instructions and other info is printed on the back of the bottle.
Though the bottle looked pretty on the counter, I had a really hard time to open it. The pump nozzle of the bottle was stuck and would not press, I think I even broke the bottle little bit in my efforts to open. Finally, I opened the entire twist cap to get the product out.
After the first time, I shifted some of the shampoo in another pump bottle. Even though this helped, it really spoilt the experience for me.
Be Honest about defective piece
I bought this bottle from Amazon at a really cheap price, like half the price, so there is a chance, I got a defective piece. Something similar to factory outlet, at half the price.
Even though I don’t have many complaints considering the price I paid, it would have been still better if it was informed earlier, that this a defective piece. I would have still bought it, I would have expected and be prepared for some defect in the bottle. It wouldn’t have been this big let down then.
Body Cupid Biotin and Argan Oil Shampoo Ingredients

The list of ingredients is printed at the back of the bottle. As you can see, it contains glycerin, biotin, argan oil, Pro-vitamin b5, jojoba oil, and aloe vera extract along with other chemicals.
It is free from sulfates and parabens, which is a good thing. But it does contain dimethicone, which is claimed to cause build-up.
How to Use

Standard usage instructions are printed on the back of the bottle.
Price: 300ml bottle costs INR 499. Generally available for a lower price at Amazon and other sites. I bought the same shampoo for INR 129 from Amazon. Might be because of defective bottle, but yeah got it in like 1/3rd price.
Availability: Available at all major online stores like Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa.
Appearance: It has a creamy white appearance, typical shampoo consistency.
Fragrance: It has a faint chemical smell, neither too strong or overpowering. It didn’t bother me at all. The fragrance fades away with the hair wash and does not stay long.
Leak-proof: Difficult to say, as I used from my smaller, leak-proof, pump bottle and kept the big, shampoo bottle in the cupboard only.
Travel-friendly: I found this 300 ml bottle too big and bulky t to carry. It would be better to carry the required amount in a smaller bottle. I had to anyway carry my alternate bottle only due to bottle issues.
My review of Body Cupid Biotin and Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo
Aside from packaging, I have used this shampoo on oiled as well as non-oiled hair. I have used this shampoo after applying light oil (combination of argan, moringa and few others) as well as heavy oil(think castor, olive and a heavy hair mask).
This shampoo removed oil effectively in one wash without drying out hair. It removes all the traces of oil and hair looks and feels clean.
It did not cause any extra hair-fall, it reduced shedding during hair wash. Even after hair wash, my hair was comparatively smoother and had lesser tangles.
This might be because of silicones, as silicones are known to layer the hair and give it a smoother look. Catch my experience with silicone hair products here.
Till recently, I was suffering from dry hair and scalp; 2 days after hair wash, my hair would become totally dry. Due to this only I got into the habit of not repeating shampoo even after oiling my hair.
After using this shampoo, my scalp becomes oily after 2 days. No matter how clean my hair is after shampoo, 2 days later my hair is again oily. I’m not sure if it’s because of silicones in this shampoo or some weather change. And I’m still curious if I like this or not, I will keep using this shampoo and see if my hair becomes more manageable without having to wash every other day.
Product Claims

I did not have that WOW experience with this shampoo. This shampoo claims to give bouncier, healthier hair with more volume but my hair became oily after 2 days and felt heavy.
I would say this shampoo is more suited for dry haired people, oily heads may find it a tad bit too heavy.
Pros
- Free from sulfates, paraben
- Gives a smooth and silky finish to the hair
- Due to the presence of silicones, there is minimal tangling during hair wash as well as post-wash
- It did not cause any major hair fall
- Slight and subtle smell, nothing too strong and overpowering on nose
- Removes oil effectively in one wash
- Does not dry out hair
- Easy to wash
Cons
- Packaging should be improved, as the pump was stuck and wouldn’t open
- My hair became oily 2 days after hair wash
- Contains silicones which are known to cause build-up. May need to use a clarifying shampoo to get rid of build-up.
- Not CG friendly due to the presence of silicones
Recommendation
Give this shampoo a try, if you are looking for a decent sulfate-free shampoo, and don’t have any concerns in using silicone.
Repurchase
I will skip this shampoo as it did nothing major and made my scalp oily.
