Hair oiling is one of the oldest Indian rituals, and it is catching up in other parts of the world too. Today I’m going to review Seer Secrets Amla and camphor hair oil that combines the power of two super powerful herbs in one oil.

Benefits of camphor and amla hair oil
Camphor is great for hair as it helps to kill the lice, clean up bacteria from the scalp, add shine, and delays premature hair greying.
Amla is another herb well-known for hair growth. Being rich in vitamin C, it is great for hair growth, delaying premature hair greying, and reducing hair fall.
When you combine the power of these two, you get a hair oil jam packed with nutrients for your hair.
Now you don’t really have to buy an oil and you can easily make camphor hair oil at home. But these things tend to take backseat when you are short on time. Or you can buy a nutrient-rich, high-quality oil from market.

About Seer Secrets Camphor Hair Oil

Let me show you what company claims about this hair oil.
Packaging

This hair oil has a packaging very similar to Seer Secrets Shampoo. It comes in a cylindrical outer tube, and a transparent bottle. All the details are printed on the outside cylindrical tube as well as the bottle.
Along with the usual screw top, the bottle also contains an applicator cap. After opening the bottle, I replaced the screw top with the applicator cap.
The applicator piece I received is pretty sharp and tugged on my scalp. So I use it to take out the required amount of oil in my palms and then apply.

How to Use

Usage instructions are printed on the bottle .I take out the required amount of oil in my palms for application, rub it to warm it up, and then apply it on scalp using finger pads. Warming up makes oils easy to absorb.
I then massage my scalp for 5-10 minutes and leave it overnight. The next day I wash it with a gentle sulfate-free shampoo.
Price and availability
100 ml hair oil costs Rs 468 but is generally available at a discount on Seer Secrts site. Use my code happy10 for an additional 10% discount during checkout.
Texture & Fragrance
Seeing the ingredients list, I was concerned that this hair oil would have a very thick consistency. But it proved me wrong. This is a very light hair oil and spreads easily on hair.
Due to the light consistency, hair is not weighed down, or you won’t get that “chipku” look with this oil.
As camphor is one of the main ingredients in this hair oil, it has a strong camphor smell. I find it soothing, but people with very sensitive nose may find it bothersome.
My review of Seer Secrets Amla & Camphor Hair Oil
I have used this hair oil for ~ 3 weeks now, with twice a week usage. I use a palmful of oil for my shoulder-length hair and apply it using my finger pads.
Due to the light consistency, the first time I used more than the required quantity. From the second time onwards, I adjusted the quantity and have now found the sweet spot. I would suggest you start with a 1 teaspoon and adjust from there.
I generally leave it overnight and wash it the next day with a gentle shampoo. Oil is removed in a single hair wash and does not require too much effort or water. After hair wash and once air dried, my hair feels softer and better managed.
When used with Seer Secrets shampoo, I could skip the conditioner as my hair was manageable and less frizzy on its own. Check out Seer Secrets hair cleanser review.
Claims
This hair oil claims to reduce itching and irritated scalp, which I can say it has met. My scalp is completely calm and I don’t have any itchiness.
It also claims to enhance hair strength, and boost hair growth. I understand 3 weeks might be a small time to make such changes, but till now I have not yet seen any such improvements.
This hair oil did not cause any major hair fall, but then it did not reduce usual breakages. I did observe lesser strands during oil application and wash, so that is something.
