Mamaearth Ubtan Face Wash Review

You know ubtans are super awesome for your skin. Made with various ingredients from the kitchen, ubtans are great to get rid of tan, dead skin cells, pollution, and other junk blocking your pores. But making and using traditional ubtan is time-consuming. Enter Mamaearth Ubtan face wash. This combines the benefit of ubtan and face wash while keeping it simple easy to use.

Who is it for?

This face wash is suitable for all skin types. It claims to get get rid of tan. After using this face wash almost 3 weeks, I will say this is indeed suitable for all skin types.

Mamaearth Ubtan Face Wash Details

Here are the details about this face wash.

It comes in a tube with an outer carton. All the details like ingredients, usage etc are printed on the carton and the tube.

The tube has a flip-top that is pretty tight making it spill-proof. The tube can be easily carried in a bag. So the packaging, though basic, is leakage and travel friendly.

How to apply

Using this face wash is fairly simple. Wet your face, take a small quantity in your palms, and apply on the face in gentle circular motions. Rinse off with water.

You can buy this in all the major online retail stores. Mamaearth products are also available in some local shops. Check at Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, Mamaearth site.

Texture & Fragrance

It has a yellow color with brownish grains which gives a good scrub experience.

This face wash has a slight turmeric fragrance, which does not linger after washing. The fragrance is not too strong and won’t bother sensitive nose.

My review of Mamaearth Ubtan Face Wash

I havebeen using this face wash for some time now and here is how Mamaearth Ubtan face wash fared for me.

This face wash is really easy to use. It spreads easily on wet face and does not too much effort. It feels smooth on the face with little exfoliating experience. Honestly, I was disappointed a little bit. Based on the color and texture I was hoping for more scrubbing action.

The face wash cleans up my skin nicely without drying it too much. It also gives a slight glow to the skin. I have used it after light makeup, full summer kitchen day and it cleaned up my skin nicely in one wash.

It did not cause any stretchy feeling in the cheeks, or more common one in summers, oily sheen. I can easily postpone using moisturizer as my skin feels properly hydrated. It did not cause any breakouts or cause any pimples.

Now coming to the claims, I did not see any change in any of the claimed benefits. The light exfoliation it provides is not enough to get rid of blackheads completely. Similarly, there was little to no benefit in damage repair or tan removal.

In the morning I follow up with Mamaeath Skin Plum Serum and Mamaearth oil-free face moisturizer. In the night after washing face and using one of the homemade toners, I follow up with Himalaya Revitalizing Night Cream. My skin is clean, properly hydrated, without any breakouts.

Mamaearth Ubtan Face Wash Benefits

  1. Free from paraben/SLS
  2. Nice ingredients list, enriched with saffron, niacinamide, this face wash contains ingredients helpful for glowing skin
  3. Cleans skin nicely without too much effort or water
  4. Does not leave an oily or dry feeling
  5. Gives a slight glow to the skin
  6. It provides light exfoliation
  7. Moisturizer is not required immediately
  8. Spreads easily without too much rubbing or effort

Cons

  1. Does not meet its claims of tan removal or damage repair
  2. Exfoliation provided is not enough to remove blackheads completely

Recommendation

If you are looking for a nice, gentle face wash with little exfoliation, then give this one a try. It should suit dry as well as oily skinned beauties.

Repurchase

I’m not planning to repurchase this one right now. I was looking for something which would combine cleansing and exfoliation. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t cut the mark. Next, I will try Mamaearth Active Charcoal face wash as I have heard good reviews about that one.

Rating

I will give this face wash 3/5 spoons of happiness.

Conclusion

So here was my review of Mamaearth Ubtan Face Wash. Have you tried this face wash? Share your experience.

Till next time, stay beautiful!
