What is organic?
Literally, organic means to be produced without using chemical pesticides. In terms of agriculture, this would mean, crops produced without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
When it comes to cosmetics, it means the ingredients were harvested without the use of synthetic chemical compounds. Organic cosmetics are made up of the best ingredients which do not cause skin irritation and are beneficial to the overall health of skin (source).
Why organic?
Chemical compounds, especially preservatives and other chemicals, may cause skin irritation and also cause damage to our environment.
Skin is the largest organ in our body. Anything you apply on it is absorbed and will end up in your body.
With this, it makes sense to adopt organic brands as they are don’t contain harsh chemicals.
Ditch the chemicals and use organic brands to get healthy skin, you and planet.
