Hey there, today I am going to review Just Herbs 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo. I have used many Just Herbs skin products (sunscreen, moisturizer) which were all of great quality, this is the first time I’m trying something from their hair products. I have been using this shampoo for almost 2 months now, so here is my detailed review of it.
About Just Herbs 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo
As the name suggests, Just Herbs products are herbal and don’t contain harsh chemicals.
From the company site:
A deeply nourishing Shampoo to nurture hair roots thus controlling excessive hair fall. A potent eight herbs formulation – Amla, Hibiscus, Henna, Trigonella Seed, Neem, Vetiver, Wheatgerm Oil and Soy Lecithin.JustHerbs.in
This shampoo comes in a transparent, cylindrical bottle with an opening at the top. Earlier this had a pump nozzle, but I got the latest packing and the pump has been replaced with a push-up cap with an opening to dispense the shampoo.
The packaging looks chic and is pretty convenient as it is possible to see the remaining amount.
Just Herbs 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo Ingredients
As can be seen from the ingredients, this contains 8 herbs which are known to be nutritious for hair. This shampoo does not contain sulfates or silicones which makes it even CG friendly. Due to its awesome ingredients, this shampoo is on my list of sulfate-free shampoo.
As usual, after the actives, all the other ingredients are also listed on the label. Kudos to Just Herbs for printing the entire list of ingredients.
How to use
Usage instructions are printed on the back of the bottle.
My take on Just Herbs 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo
Let me first share the basic details about this product before going into my experience.
CONTROLS HAIRFALL | NON-DRYING | SULPHATE & PARABEN FREE | SUITABLE FOR COLOUR – TREATED HAIR
So, how much does Just Herbs 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo cost?
200ml bottle costs INR 625.
Prices may vary slightly from one store to another, so make sure to compare it before buying.
Swatch and Appearance
The shampoo is green in colour and has a gel consistency. The gel consistency means this is neither too runny nor too thick. It easily spreads on the hair and distributes pretty fast on the entire scalp.
It has a refreshing herbal smell. Nothing too strong, and does not stay for long after washing hair.
Leak-proof and travel-friendly
The bottle is travel-friendly and leak proof. The push cap prevents the product from leaking and convenient bottle size makes it easy to carry in bag.
My review of Just Herbs 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo
I have used this shampoo for almost 1.5 – 2 months, twice a week. As is my habit, I don’t repeat shampoo while washing hair and this removes all the oil and grime from hair in one wash itself.
I have used this on non-oiled hair, lightly oiled hair (read argan oil), heavily oiled hair (olive, castor, coconut oil). With lightly-oiled hair, it removed the oil in one wash and left my hair soft with little frizz.
On heavily oiled hair, I had to wash twice to completely remove oil. It dried my hair slightly and made my hair frizzy. I had to follow up with a serum to tame the flyaways.
My hair is generally dry and this shampoo is claimed to be suitable for normal to oily hair. This could be the reason for the frizzy hair, next time maybe I will try dry hair variant.
Just Herbs 8 in 1 Shampoo Effectiveness
Now coming to the effectiveness, the company claims this shampoo will reduce hair fall and strengthen the roots. I did not observe any such behaviour. It gave me squeaky clean hair and some frizz but did not see any change in hair fall. I felt I lost little more hair while washing with this shampoo as compared to the previous one.
Apart from that, it did not make any major impact on my hair fall, neither reduced it nor increased it too much.
I have not coloured my hair recently, so can’t comment on the coloured hair suitability.
